Ahoi Ashtami is an Indian festival dedicated to Goddess Ahoi popularly known as Ahoi Mata. Ahoi Ashtami is a Hindu festival celebrated about 8 days before Diwali on Krishna Paksha Ashtami. The fasting and puja on Ahoi Ashtami are dedicated to Mata Ahoi or Goddess Ahoi. She is worshipped by mothers for the well-being and long life of their children. On this day, the mother fasts for the longevity and better health of her children. On this day, there is a law for worshiping Goddess Parvati. It is believed that the child gets fruit from the brilliance of this fast. The fasting of Ahoi Ashtami is observed four days after Chauth and eight days before Diwali.
