Kojagari Lakshmi Puja is another Bengali festival that is celebrated in every household. This festival falls on full moon day in the month of Aswin (mid September to mid-October) is one special day in autumn when the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, Goddess Lakshmi, is worshipped in many parts of India like in Bengal, Orissa, Maharashtra. This festival is also known as Sharad Purnima in other parts of India. People perform this Vrata under the moonlight after fasting for the day. On this particular day, women draw Alpana in front of their houses as it represents the feet of Goddess Lakshmi.
