Navpatrika Puja is performed on the seventh day of Durga Puja. Nabapatrika is also known as Maha Saptami and Kolabou Puja. On this day, there is a legislation of Maha Snan. On the morning of Satpami, Durga is worshiped by worshiping a Navpatrika or Nabapatrika i.e. a bunch made of nine types of leaves. These nine leaves are considered to symbolize the nine forms of Durga. In Bengal it is also known as Kolabau Puja. Kolabau is considered to be the wife of Ganesha.

The Navpatrika is bathed with water from the Ganges or any other holy river before sunrise. This bath is called Maha Snan. The ceremony of ‘Prana Pratishthan’ is performed where the idol of Goddess Durga is consecrated.
