Gauri Vrat is observed in Ashada Maas by unmarried girls and married women in Gujarat and some other Western India parts. Gauri Vrat is an important fasting dedicated to Goddess Parvati. Gauri Vrat is also known as Morakat vrat. This vrat is a five day fast observed in the month of Ashadha, which begins on the Shukla paksha Ekadashi and ends on Purnima, the day of Guru purnima. This ritual is carried out every morning and the wheat seeds are watered.
