Parsva Ekadashi Vrat Katha
On the day of Parsva Ekadashi, there is a law to read or listen to the story of Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu. According to the legend, there was a monster known as Bali in Tretayuga. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. He used to worship them with numerous types of Vedas. He used to organize Brahmins worship and Yagya on a regular basis, however, due to the envy of Indra, he conquered Inderlok and all of the gods. For this reason, all of the gods gathered together and went to God after thinking. Indra, along with Brihaspati, started worshiping and praising the Lord by going near the Lord and bowing down to Vedic mantras.
Then Shri Hari Vishnu took the fifth avatar in the form of Vamana and then conquered King Bali with great glory. In his left hand, Lord Vishnu took the test of King Bali. King Bali had taken control over all of the three worlds, but there was a quality in it that he didn't send any Brahmin empty-handed. He used to donate to it.
The demon Guru Shukracharya also made him aware of the tricks of Lord Vishnu, but despite his sacrifice, he promised to offer three feet of land to Lord Vishnu as Vamana. Then what was it that Lord Vishnu measured all the worlds in two steps, and there was nothing left for the third step, so Bali fulfilled his promise and put his head under his foot.
