The month of Sawan is going on now and this month the tradition of worshiping and worshiping within the temples of Shivji has been going on since historical times. One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva is Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga situated close to Nashik. Story of Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga
Based on the legend right here, in historical times, sage Gautama, the husband of Goddess Ahilya lived on the Brahmagiri mountain and did penance. There were many sages within the space who were jealous of Gautam Rishi and saved trying to degrade him. As soon as all the sages accused Gautam Rishi of cow slaughter.Everybody mentioned that Goddess Ganga has to be introduced right here to atone for the sin of this murder. Then Gautama Rishi started worshiping by establishing Shivalinga. Happy with the devotion of the sage, Shiva and Mother Parvati appeared there.
God asked for a boon. The sage then asked Gautam to ask Shiva to boon to ship Goddess Ganga to that place. Goddess Ganga said that if Shiva too stays at this place, then solely she too will keep here. On the saying of Ganga, Shivji agreed to reside there as Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga and the river Ganga started flowing there as Gautami. Godwari is also a name of Gautami River.
Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh all three are together in the Shivalinga.
The Trimbakeshwar temple is very ancient. A small pit inside the temple has three small Shivalingas. These three Shivalingas are often known as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Three mountains are situated close to the Trybankeshwar temple, that are often known as Brahmagiri, Nilgiri and Ganga Dwar.Brahmagiri is considered the type of Shiva. On the Nilgiri Mountains is the temple of Neelambika Devi and Dattatreya Guru. There's a temple of Goddess Godavari or Ganga on the Ganges Gate Mountains. Water retains dripping from the toes of the idol, which accumulates in a nearby reservoir.
