Another legend tells that on this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya with his wife, Goddess Sita and brother Lakshmana after completing 14 years of exile. During the exile, Lord Rama killed Ravana, the king of demons, this day is also celebrated as a symbol of the victory of good over evil.
